more fabulous fans

Sandra who made this lovely quilt also helped the other ladies with their fan quilts that you have seen and will see some more of.
I quilted this using a block from Ketryn Emmerson. It was Iris block, with an Asian feel to it and made the fans look soft. When Sandra brought the quilt for show and tell on Friday, she has added anothr border,a scolloped border.I wish I had a photo to show you. I love the finished product.

Here is another great kids quilt based on our old school readers Dick and Jane. It is very colourful and is a great I Spy quilt. I know the material is available at Quilters Bazaar either on line or at the lovely store. This has been quilted with tricycles. Take a walk down memory lane.

Boys quilts x 2

Here are 2 great boys quilts I had loads of fun quilting these quilts .The first one has pirate stuff all over it.ie: hats, daggers, pistols, parrots, boots. the centre panel was hand guided to depict water and clouds.Gold rasant thread was used in edge to edge area and grey rasant in the centre panel. The backing is a fabulous map print that looks like a map of the seas.

This is an excellent boys quilt ,any boy would love it I am sure. It is quilted with signature variegated thread using a pattern by Deb Geissler containing motorbikes and flames and swirls.

Red,white and Black

This huge quilt was too big for me to hang to photograph ,but OH did it have a huge impact. The simple design was a perfect foil for the funky black and white fabric. This quilt is perfect for a young bride as her wedding quilt don't you think?
Quilted with white thread using Deb's swirls.

Blue and brown,

The blues and browns combined well to make a very interesting quilt. Nice!
